Usually, error messages while downloading music happen because SmartMusic is being blocked from accessing the website that distributes music. Make sure you manage your Internet security software so that SmartMusic has access to your Internet connection.


However, in some cases, music titles become damaged when being downloaded from the Internet. Try removing the file from SmartMusic and re-downloading it from Find Music. To remove a problem file, follow these steps:

  1. Under My Library, find the music that won't open.
  2. Windows: right-click on the file. Mac: control-click on the file.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click Find Music and re-download the title.
