This error can occur when using older versions of the SmartMusic iPad app. Most likely your app has already been updated. However, if the app has not been fully closed and re-opened, the update may not have yet been applied. To resolve this error message and submit your take follow these steps:

  1. Select Back at the upper left corner of your screen.
  2. Select Profile, then choose Log Out.
  3. Double-press the Home button. Recently viewed apps appear.
  4. Swipe up on the SmartMusic application preview to close it.
  5. Press the home button once to return to the home screen. 
  6. Tap on the SmartMusic icon on your home screen to reopen SmartMusic
  7. Log in with your Username and Password.
  8. Resubmit your take.
