A security setting in iOS can prevent an app from accessing your iPad's microphone. To allow SmartMusic to access the microphone, follow the these steps.
- Close the SmartMusic app.
- From the iPad home screen, tap Settings.
- Choose Privacy > Microphone.
- Locate SmartMusic on the microphone settings page and tap the switch to the right.
