Apple will release macOS 15 (Sequoia) on Monday, September 16, 2024.
Finale v27 is not compatible with Sequoia and will not be updated.

After installing the latest ARIA Player, Finale and PrintMusic users may need to configure the ARIA Player Audio Units plug-in (Mac) or VST plug-in (Windows) for use with those notation programs. Please choose your platform and follow the steps below:

 

Mac

  1. Quit Finale or PrintMusic.
  2. In Finder, press SHIFT + COMMAND + G to open the Go to Folder dialog box.
  3. Type "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components" and press RETURN.
  4. Confirm that the file ARIA Player AU.component is present. If so, continue to the next step. If not, quit all applications and reinstall the ARIA Player using the link above.
  5. Launch Finale or PrintMusic and choose the appropriate dialog box for your program version (listed below):
    • Finale 2012 and later: MIDI/Audio > Audio Units Banks & Effects
    • Finale 2009 through 2011: MIDI/Audio > Instrument Setup > Audio Units Instruments
    • PrintMusic 2014 and 2014.5: MIDI > Audio Units Banks & Effects
    • PrintMusic 2010 through 2011: MIDI > Instrument Setup > Audio Units Instruments
  6. The ARIA Player is available in the Instrument column.

 

  1. Exit Finale or PrintMusic.
  2. On your keyboard, press the WINDOWS key + R to open the Run dialog box.
  3. Type "C:\Program Files\Garritan\ARIA Player\VST" and click OK.
  4. If you're using Finale 2014.5 or earlier, copy the file named "ARIA Player VST_x86.dll". For Finale (version 25) and later, copy the file "ARIA Player VST_x64" instead.
  5. Press the WINDOWS key + R again.
  6. Type the appropriate file path below, based on your program version and click OK:
    • Finale (v25 and later): C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2\Garritan
    • Finale 2011 through 2014.5: C:\ProgramData\MakeMusic\Finale [your version number]\VST Support
    • Finale 2009 through 2010: C:\Program Files (x86)\Finale [your version number]\FinaleVST
      32-bit users: replace "Program Files (x86)" with "Program Files"
    • PrintMusic 2011 through 2014: C:\ProgramData\MakeMusic\Finale PrintMusic [your version number]\VST Support
      32-bit users: replace "Program Files (x86)" with "Program Files"
    • PrintMusic 2010: C:\Program Files (x86)\Finale PrintMusic 2010\FinaleVST
      32-bit users: replace "Program Files (x86)" with "Program Files"
  7. Paste the file you copied in step 4 into the appropriate destination folder. If the folder destination listed above does not exist on your system, then you may need to create new blank folders to create the filepath.
  8. Launch Finale or PrintMusic and choose the appropriate dialog box for your program version (listed below):
    • Finale 2012 and later: MIDI/Audio > VST Banks & Effects
    • Finale 2009 through 2011: MIDI/Audio > Instrument Setup > VST Instruments
    • PrintMusic 2014: MIDI > VST Banks & Effects
    • PrintMusic 2010 through 2011: MIDI > Instrument Setup > VST Instruments
  9. The ARIA Player is available in the Instrument column.
