This issue is resolved in Finale (Version 25). If you are experiencing this issue on Finale (Version 25), please contact Customer Success.

Finale (or PrintMusic) 2014.5 is most likely crashing on launch because the Mac detects an absence of a built-in input device. When you plug a device into the Audio In (microphone) port, your Mac will detect an input device and Finale 2014.5 will launch normally.  Any device with a standard 1/8" connector will work, including a pair of headphones.

Some Macs, such as the Mac Pro, do not have an Audio In jack. In this case, you can activate the Built-In audio input driver by plugging in a USB audio device.

If Finale continues to crash after trying this out, please contact Customer Success for help.
