This problem has been resolved in Finale (Version 25). If you are experiencing this issue in Finale (Version 25) please as the cause may be an unrelated problem.

There is a limitation with Finale 2014.5 and Temple Blocks. This is the workaround if you are needing to use more than a single line on the staff with Temple Blocks

Mac

  1. Open Score Manager (CMD+K).
  2. Click on the Device drop-down menu for Temple Blocks.
  3. Choose SmartMusic SoftSynth.
  4. Click drop down for Sound > Percussive > Wood Blocks.
  5. Then in Notation Style drop-down menu choose Standard.
  6. Close Score Manager.
  7. Close the Playback Controls palette.
  8. Hold OPTION+spacebar and move your mouse over the staves in your score briefly to scrub playback and load SMSS properly.

Windows

  1. Open Score Manager (CTRL+K).
  8. Hold CTRL+spacebar and move your mouse over the staves in your score briefly to scrub playback and load SMSS properly.

At this point, if you are getting no audio, or are still unable to put Temple Block notation on more than one staff you can contact Customer Success to address the issue further.
