Windows 10 - Finale 25.5.0.290

I have created drum parts with cues before, so this is perplexing me.   I followed all of the instructions in the manual; however, although I can add cue notes to layer 4, the layer 2 and 3 notes can be seen as well.  When I write big band charts, I can work with this by not putting in notes in other layers, but if I need to have notes in layer 2 (which I do for the bass drum and highhat foot) they come through as well.  Let me assure you - I followed the instructions in the manual TO THE LETTER.   What else can be happening?

Neil I am not sure I am following what you are trying to do. Can you post a sample? Most of the time you don't have a musician playing when he has cue notes. Or, is it a rhythmic pattern you want the drummer to follow?
