How about a real text editor. Where you can do the simple things most simple editors can. Maybe like Word Pad.

I'm intrigued. What functions of (say) Word Pad does Finale's editor lack that you would particularly like to see?

I know that being able to right-click to bring up an edit menu for text in the lyrics edit window would be nice.

How about these for starters. It also needs to be able to be assigned to a page or a measure.

Okay, that's the background of my suggestion for using Rich Edit Controls 14 days ago: https://makemusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/239518048-Add-user-defined-Tab-settings-to-Text-Blocks . A word pad document is basically a Rich Edit Control.

There could even be “styles” you can set (like in Word) to easily access predetermined font/size/style preferences with a keystroke.
