I am a reasonably experienced finale user with minimal experience using hyperscribe.  All of my experience notating music has come through the point-click method.  

I am curreently trying to hook up a Roland V-drum into an HP laptop running Windows 10.  According to the Roland manual, I need no special drivers to do this.  Where I'm getting confused is in how to configure finale.  Am I still configuring MIDI IN and OUT when using a USB cable?  I can get the computer to recognize that the kit is plugged in but, beyond that, I can't get any type of signal into finale.  

If anyone has experience with this, please help with suggestions to try.
