The road map of my score is as follows (as you would see in check repeats):
1 - 8,
10 - 17,
1 - 8,
10 - 17,
1 - 9
Measure 9 is the end, and only played once at the end. I can't get the proper ending using create a first and second ending, create an ending, etc. How do I accomplish this please, and to also play back correctly?
Since the 1st 16 bars are identical both times you don't really need an "ending" - you could do it with a simple repeat and then write out the last 9 bars (copy and paste the 1st 8 bars the add the final bar). It would take up more space on the page but would be easier for the performer not to get lost:
||: 16-bar phrase (2 times) :|| 9-bar phrase ||
There are other ways of doing this using a Coda sign or a 3-ending structure, but I think writing out the final 9 will prevent mistakes in performance.
