Surely there is some way to correctly notate the Mark Tree or Chime Tree so that it will playback correctly.  Here are three examples how I would see this notated.  The first being a top to bottom stroke and the other two being a down and up stroke.

This is how I would think a percussionist would want to see the part - showing duration and direction, but I'm not finding any notation that actually sets playback to properly play the instrument.  With all the advances in the 100's of other instruments, surely there is a method to get the Mark Tree to sound correctly.  I've searched rather exhaustively and not found anything helpful yet.
