All the sudden, playback stopped playing everything except the top part. This happened to the original full score file shortly after I extracting parts from it. It also only plays the top part when I export audio. I quadruple checked the audio settings in the score manager and mixer to make sure nothing was being muted or soloed. I'm not sure if extracting the parts is what caused this to happen or not. I don't see why it would, since it shouldn't effect the original file at all, but the timing of it makes me believe it may be related. I'm using MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), system 10.12.2, finale 2014.5.

No idea why this would happen. Just as a shot in the dark...

  1. Have you checked that the voices are still loaded in the Aria player?
  2. Have you tried "Reassign Playback Sounds in the MIDI/Audio menu?
  3. Is the top part be any chance Solo'd in the Aria Mixer, Finale Mixer, or Studio View (which mirrors the Finale Mixer).
  4. Are any voices muted in any of the above Mixers?

These seem like silly suggestions even as I make them, but if they help....

Yes as mentioned I quadruple checked that nothing was solo'd or muted. I'm using Garritan.

Now it's getting worse. I can't seem to be able to even select anything.

Fixed! I reset it, then I could select things again. Then I switched from Garritan to Smart Player, then switched back, and now it works.
