Thanks for the trial version of Finale. I have already SmartScore in use for scanning of my music. I try in SmartScore to save the music in XML format and continue directly in Finale with the same file. However, this does not work. Finale cannot see/find the XML file. It appears only to work after saving as midi file and as a consequence a lot details are lost. How should I solve this?

You cannot Open an XML file in Finale v25, but you should be able to Import it. IIRC in the most recent update of Finale v25 you can import it into an appropriately configured blank file to take advantage of that file's libraries and page settings.
