Offhand, this sounds like you might have stuck key. If it's an actual mechanical problem, you might need a new keyboard if your present one can't be cleaned.

If it's a software problem (the computer THINKS the key is still down, even after you've released it) then logging out of your account, then logging back in, usually clears it. A computer reboot might be necessary if that doesn't do it, but most odd problems like this are solved by a logout, relog in.

it's not a stuck key.. nothing wrong with my keyboard.. I am also not using the keyboard as I only use the mouse to curser.  This issue is something new since I upgraded to Finale 25.. 

The "virtual stuck key" is something other users have noticed. It can happen even if you aren't using your keyboard. Does it still happen after you reboot the computer?

yes it does.. thank you for your inputs.. I have actually requested tech support to call me.  I have sent them the files.. The file is really corrupt and cannot figure out why.  It is a new file.. I have been cursed with this project going on 5 years now.. This time restarting a brand new file.. very very time consuming, but was hoping that it solve the problems from the past Finale's.   So far, am very impressed by the technician.  BUT no stuck keys.. otherwise typing in WP would be affected I would think..  but I know so little about computers..
