Hi all,

I'm on an IMac with 10.12.2 working with 2014.5. I have a jazz score that I completed in scroll view and when I switch to page view, it fills upo the page nicely, but the staves are too close and all the elements are clashing between adjacent instruments. I tried resizing smaller so I could manually adjust the staves and have it fit on the page, but in page view it seems only the staves on that page are adjusted. I would rather not have to do that page by page! Thanks for any help.

You can use Respace Staves (Staff Tool, staff menu) to respace staves by an absolute amount or a percentage. I usually space staves from page 2 to the end as a group (whether I use Respace or just drag the individual staves).

The key is selecting the staves. I select either a stack (to respace all the staves) or an individual measure (if I am working staff by staff) and then hold the SHIFT key down and press the END key (on Windows--I do not know what the corresponding function key is on a Mac). With the right stave(s) selected, I can drag or respace whatever I want all at once.

If your Mac (like mine) does not have an END key, you could choose an entire staff, start to finish, by clicking before (to the left of) a staff, make your changes, and then just redo the first page.

Thanks, J!

You got me pointed in the right direction. There was an option to use the scroll view spacing in the respace dialogue box. I used that and then, because part of the score went off the page, I reduced it from there to 80%. I don't know if a conductor is going to be able to read it, but it looks nice on the page.
