Hello,  I'm using Finale 25 with a Mac El Capitan.  I've upgraded all my programs.  I am assigning percussion instruments in the score manager using Aria player on Midi channel 10.  Does anyone know how to get the various Garritan Personal Orchestra percussion sounds to notate correctly?  I'm using speedy entry with a Midi keyboard, and would like the notation to reflect the playback.  Currently, I am able to hear the bass drum playback as it is assigned to C2, but the Finale pitches are notated way down below the staff.  Do I need to create specific midi maps?

For the most part I open the Score Manager and choose/access/edit the drum map for the stave that needs adjustment(s).  Once you grasp the concept that rules for instruments can be set on a stave by stave basis via the Score Manager, it should start be become more 'intuitive' to feel your way around in the program and get things done.

You can find documentation on the maps already included with Garritan Libraries here:

I typically start with one of those and tweak it to fit a particular score's needs.

I think you can learn more about how Finale deals with mapped percussion and displays it in a score here:

You probably will not need to do much to the 'mapping'; however, the "Layouts" for the map that tell where you want notes on a stave, the shape and size, etc...are also done from here.
