I just upgraded from 2012 to v 25 for Mac. Long notes keep dying out (auto diminuendo). I went into human playback, set to "standard" and UNchecked "diminuendo on long ending notes." Yet whole notes dim at the end. I don't use Garritan so I then changed "Instr techniques" to all unchecked and hit "Apply." Nothing changed. I don't want any diminuendos unless I write them with hairpins or "dim" or "cresc."  How do I stop this unwanted fading out? I've tried about every settings change under Human Playback I can think of!

What instruments are we talking about here?

Half are rack-mount Proteus 2, Proteus FX, and Roland S-330. The Other half are on-board MOTU Symphonic instruments. I have done more careful testing and the problem happens when I have a whole note FF chord followed by a whole note PP chord. On the last 2 beats, Finale Human playback is introducing a diminuendo I didn't write (no hairpins, etc) and I don't want this. This file I made for a test-balance under Finale 2012 played perfectly there but then, I couldn't use human playback with 2012 and OS Sierra (LOL) I upgraded to Finale v25 so I could use human playback again, but it's doing something I don't want, i.e., decrescendo from FF to PP when what is want is a subito change. Again, I am not using Garritan at al, and I do have it set to "play through MIDl." Only outboard synths and onboard MOTU Symphonic Instruments. I should make a point that if I turn off human playback in v25, it plays beautifully, but then I lose crescendos and decrescendos (along with trills, tremolos, etc) when I *do* want them.

Did this help clarify?

I found the solution and thought I'd post it in case anyone else comes across this issue.

I went into human playback and chose "custom," then I copied the parameters from "standard" and unchecked "Automatic Expression." This stopped the unwanted "fade outs" described above while retaining playback functionality of hairpins and other expressions and techniques.

Robert Wendel: I know you posted this 7 years ago, but Finale still hasn't fixed this bug and I'm using version 27. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This has been driving me crazy for years.
