Hi there,

After reading a blogpost about using "old" templates I decided to create new ones.

I use Finale 25.2 on a Mac with OSX El Capitan (10.11.6) and with 8 Gb internal memory. I started with the Maestro Default Font file that comes with Finale 25 and created 4 templates until now.

All work well except the one I created for a large windband. I can open the other templates as template and create music. But when I open the large windband template (as a template) then Finale crashes when I press "Finish" on the second screen of the document setup wizard. But when I open this template as a normal file nothing goes wrong.

Is there a limit to the number of staves the setup wizard can handle (this template/file contains 54 staves)

Greetings,

I found the problem. I saved the original file with a staff-set showing and not all staves. After I changed that and saved the file again, there are no more problems.

Hi Hans,

Thanks for posting!

I can also replicate that issue on my Mac. I will be sure to get this crash written up. In the meantime, definitely watch out for those staff sets in your templates. It appears that you can still create them, but saving the template file in Scroll View with a Staff Set selected appears to be the issue.
