Expression Tool is malfunctioning!  I cannot perform any function with this tool--any dynamics or any editing of expressions with it! I do not know operating system code; you have record of software purchased. Orlan Thomas

Hello Orlan,

This sounds like it maybe being caused by a corrupted preference file. To fix this you'll want to try these steps:

1. Quit Finale.
2. In Finder, choose (from the Finder program toolbar) Go > Go to Folder.
3. Type or copy & paste the following location: "~/library/preferences" (without quotes).
4. In the Preferences folder, find a file named "- Preferences" and drag it into the trash.
5. Empty your Trash.
6. Restart your computer.
7. Relaunch Finale.

If you are still experiencing issues after this please feel free to directly contact our Customer Support here.

The Expression Tool on my Finale Program has stopped functioning.  I cannot get to any dynamics or any editing there of.  When I click on the  mf icon I get a message that reads, "Please send us this error report (83kb) to help fix the problem & improve this software. Then when I proceed I get another message that reads, "One or more auto-saved documents were found. Do you want to recover these auto-saved documents with options of Recover or Don't recover. The recover option brings back the finale screen; the Don't Recover is supposed to permanently remove auto-saved versions but that doesn't seem to happen. Please tell me how to resume the function of this tool.O. Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Just a quick question, what version of what operating system (Windows or Mac) are you running Finale on at the moment?

No problem, Orlan.

I am glad to hear that our instructions (looks like you were chatting with our agent Dave) were able to get Finale back up and running.

Have a great rest of your week!
