Using Finale 25 in Windows 10

In Finalescript, these both work for fine for me:

//changes font, size, and italic attribute of a specific string of text
search "Not in Time"  [Courier] 36 regular replace "Rubato" [Arial] 14 italic, blocks

// replaces all instances of a font and size with different font and size
search "" [Courier] 36 replace ""[Arial] 14, blocks

but I am NOT able to get this to work:

//trying to replace all instances of a particular font and size with a different font and size, while changing to italic
search "" [Courier] 36 regular replace "" [Arial] 14 italic, blocks

Is this supported?

Hi Leonard,

FinaleScript can be tricky sometimes and my best guess is that this latter script example is getting tripped up looking for the "non-character" between the quotation marks.

That being said, if this script is not working for you, you may want to try the Font Utilities function (Document > Data Check > Font Utilities). This dialog box is designed to perform actions like you have described in the comment of the latter of the two scripts.

Here is a user manual article that goes into some more detail: Font Utilities dialog box
