I presently have GPO 4 on the above computer and I purchased the GPO 5 Upgrade (also, the media kit being shipped).  Following the smooth install of GPO 5, I immediately opened the Application Folder and discovered that there was not a new GPO 5 Folder.  I searched the computer and could not locate a GPO 5 Folder.  There was only the GPO 4 Folder, same as before the GPO 5 installation.  Secondly, I cannot locate the new GPO 5 File of instruments which presumably is contained in the GPO 5 Folder?  I checked the info properties of several of the GPO 4 instruments (located in Applications Folder) wondering if by chance the GPO 5 instruments may have supplanted the older GPO 4 instruments. It appears that it did not occur, due to the fact that the creation and modified dates go back to 2009 and 2010. Thirdly, Are there new GPO 5 Manuals?  Or, are we to refer to the old GPO 4 User Manuals?

I would be grateful for any information that can be given regarding the above.  Thanks in advance and best regards.

Hi, sorry I don't have a Mac (not an employee...just putting my 2 cents in case it's helpful), but in my Windows experience your scenario is NOT normal.

It seems to me like maybe you succeeded in installing or updating the ARIA Player and Engine, but did not install the new Library.  Sometimes installers run in chains.  I.E.  First the ARIA Engine installer runs, then library installers, etc.  I'd try it again, and make sure you get a specific installer for the GPO5 library itself.

GPO4 and GPO5 are indeed totally independent libraries (even though some of the instruments are redundant).  You can have them both installed and mix and match among them.

For me GPO4 shows up in ARIA as "GPO", while GPO5 shows up as, "Personal Orchestra 5".  I've chosen to keep GPO4 installed for compatibility with legacy 'soundsets' for things like Sibelius and Finale.  I.E.  A GPO4 soundset in Sibelius or Finale will NOT manage GPO5...

As for the manuals, much of what is in the GPO4 manual still applies, but to get information on the new content you'll need to use the online documentation.  You can find full documentation for GPO5 in an online format by clicking the question mark in the 'info tab' of a GPO5 instrument (which won't help you much if you've not succeeded in getting the library installed), or by going directly to this link:  https://usermanuals.garritan.com/GPO5/GPO5.htm
