I'm running MacOS X El Capitan and Finale 25.5. Currently, and as far back as I can remember, when exploding parts, if there were any areas where everyone had a unison passage, all exploded parts except the top part would simply show an array of rests instead of the unison passage. It's time for that to change, I think!

I couldn't agree more that Explode needs enhancements. Your comments have been added to FIN-4312, the story in our backlog on the topic. In the meantime, you might look at the full version of TGTools "Smart Explosion". Tobias has some great functionality that overcomes Finale's limitations.

Trying to explode an example in the upper measure!

I think Finale needs better options for rests, extra note unison and partial measure exploding.
