It would be nice if a second measure number bar would show the assigned measure numbers, while the first bar showed the actual numbers. This would sure make setting up regions easier for me.

 

Of course, if there is already a way to do this, please tell me!

In the Preferences - View you can choose whether Finale in its dialog boxes should display Defined Measure Numbers or Actual Measure Numbers.

It is {either or}, one or the other.

 

However, there is a way (workaround) to see both:

In the Preferences, tell Finale to display the Actual Measure Numbers.

You can always see the Defined Measure Numbers in the layout.

 

You probably already know the following:

Often the measure numbers have a different layout in the score and in the parts, so that the score layout displays a measure number below each measure, while the part layout displays a measure number at the beginning of each system (and a measure number range below multimeasure rests).
