Finale: 25.5.0.290

OS: Windows 10

Hello,

Whenever I insert an audio track in to my score, the audio is messed up. It raises the pitch of the song by a step and a half, and it increases the tempo of the audio track. I have tested different audio tracks and different computers. The different tracks have the same problem with pitch and tempo. When playing the same mp3 on a different computer, it works. I'm a little stuck to why this is happening and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kyle

Your audio track might not be at the same sample rate as in the Finale audio set up. Make sure it is the same (usually 44100hz)

I have the same problem and my bit rate is 44100; I alternately used an MP3 and have the same problems, anyone find a solution to this; kinda destroys the purpose of adding audio if it won't take it as a file as it stands.

Thanks,

I've been experiencing this same issue as well.

  • Yes, the sampling rate of the audio files is the documented 44.1 kHz.
  • I've additionally tried disabling Human Playback.
  • I've also performed a reset of the settings

As a bug fix will almost certainly not be forthcoming at this point in Finale's lifecycle, the questions are as follows:

  • Is there anyone who does not experience this pitch and tempo issue with audio tracks?
  • If so, are there any particular tricks or workarounds to consistently getting proper behavior?

Additionally, "adopt Dorico" is not an answer here at the present—Dorico lacks similar functionality  There have been multiple different posts in Steinberg forums for a number of years now that have been requesting this such capability, but there is not yet any concrete roadmap as to when such a feature might be implemented (if ever).

Thank you!
