I may want to use a Finale file playback for practice purposes, or even a live performance.

In that Finale file, during playback, there may be a vamp section, in repeats, and the repeat is set to “always jump,” because the exact number of repeats is not known for the performance.

If there was a feature that would allow the user to continue on command, past the “always jump” repeat, that one simple feature would give me the luxury of not needing a sequencer, or to have to stop playback, and restart.

Until Finale implements this feature, does someone have a solution for me?

Thank you.

Hi Gary:

MakeMusic also makes SmartMusic, which is a web-based practice application that allows you to change tempo on the fly and set loops to practice a difficult passage along with many other practice specific features. You can also import MusicXML files from Finale into SmartMusic if you have content that is not currently available in our library. At this time, we do not have plans to provide practice/live performance functionality in Finale.

Is there a plug in or add on that would work in Finale?

Thank you

Finale is not really designed for real-time playback adjustments.
