I need to Unauthorize and reauthorize finale 2007 from an XP computer to a win 7.
I've loaded the software but I keep getting the register notice even after registering.
How can I fix this?
Hi Mike,
If you still have access to the Windows XP computer, you can open Finale 2007 (you may have to open it by right-clicking the desktop icon for 2007 and choosing Run as administrator) and then choose Help > Deauthorize Finale. You can then use your installation disc to install Finale 2007 on your other computer and authorize when prompted on launch.
If you run into any issues authorizing or deauthorizing, or if you don't have access to the older XP computer, please feel free to contact our Customer Success team using the Submit a request link above.
Side note: Just a head's up that Finale 2007 is not technically compatible with Windows 7, but you may find that it works alright on that operating system and you are free to try using it on that OS. Just wanted to let you know in case you run into any odd issues.
Hope this helps!
Okay! Fortunately, we can still get this sorted. One of our CS agents can definitely help you remove the older authorization. To contact them, use the Submit a request link above. Be sure to include your serial number when writing in, that'll help with the process.
After the old authorization(s) have been removed, you can use those free seats to authorize on your new computer.
Hoping to get this one sorted for you soon!
Hi Ivan,
Yes, we can definitely help out with registration and authorization issues for legacy versions of Finale. It looks like our agent Luke has taken your ticket. Please let him know if you have any further questions!
Mike, thanks for writing back here. I have found your ticket - it looks like you may have received the automated Legacy - Technical Support notification which prevented us from seeing your ticket. I will go ahead and take your ticket so that we can get to the bottom of this one.
Hope this helps!
