I recently had to completely uninstall my Windows 7 implementation of Finale 25.2. Before doing so, I saved various custom templates, libraries, and such in a separate folder to restore later. After reinstalling Finale, I was able to restore and edit one of my Percussion Layouts, but the Percussion Map was gone and had to be recreated. Can anyone tell me where Finale stores the Percussion Maps so I will be able to back those up if there is a "next time"?

Many thanks in advance.

I could be wrong here, but I seem to recall that you should look in the folder MIDI Device Annotation.

The files are .XML files which means that they are text files.

You can duplicate an existing XML file, rename it, and edit it in a text editor.

I once did so, and the file showed up in Finale.

I could even edit the new XML file via Finale’s Percussion MIDI Map Editor.
