Audio Setup is in the MIDI/Audio > Device Setup menu section even for users of Finale v25.

Thank you, Adrian.

I do have the correct menu. However, Audio Setup is grayed out and is not available. I am trying to find out if I can make it available.

Same problem here with two systems.  Windows 10 and Finale 25 seem to be a bad combination. One day playback will work on one system and nothing works on the other.  This is my error for not trying the demo before.  I've had every version of Finale 95, 2007, 2009 work without a hitch. I'll be sending files to support but it's highly unlikely I will upgrade to another version of Finale.  I'm about ready to make a youtube video of all of the inconveniences of getting Finale 25 to work,

On playtback, after the instruments have installed, the cursor just sticks at the beginning. What a nightmare this product is to install and authorize.

Paul,

Since you do not say which version of Finale you are using nor which computer operating system you are using, one suspects you do not really need help, only a place to vent.

I am using Finale 25 on Windows 10, as you might notice in my first question. I have perhaps found an answer: I apparently need to reset Rewire and then restart Finale.

(J ADRIAN VERKOUTERAN), read the thread before you leap in with all clogs flailing. As M.S. Brown has informed you.

Hi All,

Thanks for posting!

M.S. Brown: I am glad that you were able to find that ReWire mode was activated and that resetting ReWire has helped.

Paul Williams & Paul Young: If your Audio Setup menus are available, but the playback cursor is appearing stuck at the first measure on playback (as you mentioned Paul W.) then it sounds like your Audio Engine is failing to load. Usually this is due to some sort of conflict between Finale and your audio configuration. It would definitely be worth submitting a ticket to address this issue with out support agents if this is still happening to you. You can do this by using the Submit a request link at the top of this page.

To get started, this article might also be helpful: Audio engine failed to load/Hanging on startup (Windows).

Hope this helps!

Seems like they are running OK now.  I'm beginning to wonder how much is attributed to the evolving W10.  I rarely use a score editor these days but I will have to see if there are any issues when W10 gets upgraded.

I have experience with Finale since the 1990s, so I thought I knew what I was doing. However, now that I upgraded to Finale 25, I can't get playback to work properly. It will not rewind to the beginning (MEASURE 1). It goes back to the same measure (measure 39) every time! What's with that?

You should be able to set the start measure in the playback settings (the sound-settings icon on the playback bar). Worth a try, anyway.
