Just upgraded to Finale V25.3 for Windows 10 and it works great so far, but.... I adjusted the Playback settings to have the playback cursor always start at "Current Counter Setting" (so if I stop, it'll pick up in the measure where I left off.) When I eventually want to start the playback at the beginning of the score, I should only have to press the HOME button in the play controls, right?

But... it doesn't work. In order to playback at the beginning measure, I have to first click END to send the cursor to the last measure THEN click HOME to return to the beginning.

Is this a glitch? I don't recall ever having to do this before with other versions. The only another way to return to the Measure 1 is to change my playback settings to "Always Start At Measure 1:1:0000" (which is not something I always want to do.)

Home button just isn't working for me. Hmmm...

Hi Leo,

Adrain's got it right! Currently the Home button on Finale for Windows doesn't quite work as many expect it should. This issue is being examined in the context of attempting to improve the playback controls to meet a more common industry standard, so I'm afraid here isn't an available timeline for an improvement yet.

However, for some more context and workaround (which it looks like you've already found), please check out this knowledge base article: Problems with the Home or Back To Beginning button (Finale for Windows). You can also click the Follow button on the bottom of that article to be updated when more information about this topic is available.

Hope this helps!

It's been awhile and it still hasn't been fixed. I got my copy of Finale 25 in January 2018.
