Hi I am finishing a chart from finale 2012.

I need to hide and collapse part of the bass clef in the piano part.

As you can see, from the screen shot many staff styles are missing, hide and collapse is among them.

What happened?

how do i make appear the staff styles missing?

please help i need to finish this chart in the next 24 hours.

thanks so much

I'm guessing that this file originated in an older Finale version, before Finale 2012. You can make the Staff Style you want. Just click the "New" button, check "Force Hide Staff" and select "Cutaway and Collapse".

You can also load a library of staff styles.

Finale comes with a library of its “default” staff styles - including the staff style Hide Staff (and Collapse).

I can confirm that Finale v25 (at least on Windows) does allow one to collapse or cutaway one staff of a two-stave grand staff. Since the Staff Attribute screen in the background shows the Cutaway option, you ought to be able to create a staff style to support it, as Bruce and Peter suggest.

Matteo Sabattini,

Open the document that should load the default library of staff styles.

File menu > Load Library…

Finale will display a directory dialog box of its Libraries folder.

Path: Libraries > Default Libraries > Staff Styles.lib
