Bad news:

Not possible in PrintMusic 2011.

The option of hiding empty staves was never supposed to be included in PrintMusic.
The users have been fortunate that they have had the (secret) option in PM, but…

When the Staff Tool was re-done in Finale 2011 (making it much easier to hide empty staves), the old functionality with "Allow Individual Staff Spacing" became obsolete, and was removed.

The new way of hiding empty staves did not get included in PrintMusic 2011.

In Other Words:

The secret option was removed.

2010 was the last version where you could do it.

If you have a version older than 2011, you can do it there.

But you will have to start all over - since an older version can not open your 2011 document.

Today an upgrade to Finale is the (only) solution.

You can upgrade to Finale or use an older version if your OS supports it and you have a copy.
