Well - I found out the problem why the latest version of Finale will not open.  I stopped the print spooler (I have an HP 8710) and it opens fine.

So hopefully, the Finale staff will figure out how to solve this.   Windows 10 64bit.

Lots of complaints about the Spooler in Windows 10. HP probably needs to fix the basic conflicts first.

Interesting comment from Mr Halloran.

I have a Samsung M202W Express (now administered by HP) that has the same problem although my HP Envy is fine.

As no other programs running under Windows 10 have this problem then, by inference, the problem must be with Finale v25 and v26.

I have raised this very issue with Customer Support and just had the brush off of "stop the print spooler before starting Finale".  This is an unacceptable response to a problem that has existed through 2 paid-for generations of software.
