I'm very new to using the ScoreMerger feature in Finale, and I've been trying it out on some old files to see if it will be useful in my workflow. What I'd like it to do is merge my orchestration score template along with another Finale file that I've created from opening and cleaning up a MIDI file. To do this, I've added the template file first and the MIDI extraction file second in the ScoreMerger dialogue box, then selected "Merge Parts into Score." I've unchecked "Optimize MIDI Channels" and "Adjust Systems to Fit Page." When it completes the task, it places the staves from the MIDI extraction file below the staves from my score template, only the MIDI extraction staves have no staff names. (In the original MIDI extraction file, the staff names were only on the first system, and there were no abbreviated staff names.)
When I do things in the reverse order (MIDI extraction file first, then orchestration score template), the names are retained from both documents, but the staves from my template, now placed at the bottom, have somewhat been reordered.
Any thoughts as to how to get the staff names to retain from the MIDI extraction file and also keep my staves in the right order from my score template? Thanks.
