Hi,

I was wondering how I could import midi into a Finale so that it retains the Chord names/information. I created the MIDI file using my PSR-A3000 Yamaha keyboard. It shows the chords in the Score Display and it shows all the chords in the SYS EX display of the keyboard. However, using finale, when I import the midi file, it shows empty score with single staff and absolutely no Chord.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet for a workaround would be to see if you can put the chords on a separate MIDI track in your PSR-A3000 before exporting. (I am not optimistic about your chances though.)

Thank you for the suggestion. When I import the same MIDI  in Notation Composer 3 ( trial version), it shows all the chords. 

 Many Yamaha products have XF chords and midi format lyrics. They are saved in the MIDI file. But apparently not every notation software can handle them! I learn that Sibelius also can recognize the chords as well.
