I am using Windows 10 and the 30 day free trial of Finale 25.3.
I have used Sibelius for years and am attempting to make the switch to Finale.
While arrowing up and down to change notes and Shift+Up to change octaves in the simple entry mode. It is scrolling through different note heads instead of changing position on the staff.
My playback sounds for the battery are putting out marimba sounds.
Thank you for any advice.
Depending what percussion you are using that may not work.
When I assign a marimba, the ARROW and SHIFT-ARROW keys work as expected on my machine.
On a pitched percussion instrument such as Glock the ARROW and SHIFT-ARROW keys work as expected, but if you try to apply them to a staff with unpitched percussion controlled by a percussion map and layout, the movement using those keys will not be easily predictable. (I have not checked to see if the ARROW and SHIFT-ARROW keys are moving the notes according to MIDI value, but on the percussion layout, the movements appear random.)
