How temporarily change instrument playback? I've created a "Hand clap" expression only for 4 measures but effect is in all piece. Changing the instrument to "Clap" results in a change in the style of the staff which I don't want. Editing playback in Expression dialogue doesn't work (in MIDI instruments "clapping" doesn't exists)... Here is a screenshot:

You could put the claps in a (silent) layer, and if you need playback, add a staff for the playback but hide it in the printed score. It would still be accessible for editing in Scroll View.
