I have Windows 10, and am running Printmusic. I will upgrade to Finale if I get satisfactory answers to two questions: 1) Does Fianle have better sounding playback instruments than Printmusic? 2) Can I create my own guitar fretboard chord forms, rather than being stuck with the "standard" one from Printmusic?

1. If PrintMusic comes with GiFF (Garritan Instruments For Finale) and the Aria Player, then full Finale probably does not have better sounds, although it might have more of them. If PrintMusic only comes with SoftSynth, then Finale has better sounds, although one can buy Garritan Sounds separately and use them with PrintMusic.  Here is a program comparison chart:

2. I don't know enough about guitar fingerings to be an expert, but here is a sample of what full Finale offers for customizing fret diagrams.
