Using Finale 25.3 - windows.

I want to move the bottom staff of page 1, with all notation, to the top of page 2. If I select the staff tool and then drag the top staff down it moves all staves on the page down, which I would expect. If I drag it far enough, the bottom staff disappears. It does not transfer to the top of page two. I can't find an answer in the user manual. Can you help?

Is the staff you are trying to move part of a system of staves? If so, it seems unlikely that Finale would happily split a system over pages unless you were tiling an oversized page.

Perhaps a little more information would help us help you. You can even attach a screenshot/image (.png seems the preferred format these days)

I want to move the bottom staff of page 3 (starting with measure 221, and move it to the top of page 4 above / or in front of the staff beginning with measure 226.

Is it a part of a system of staves? Sorry but I don't know. When I opened the file and set it up I entered 300 measures, or something like that. Finale generated or created those staves based on the number of measures. I don't know if that makes it a part of a system.

I hope this helps you to help me. Thx for your attention & effort.

Have you tried...

  1. selecting the Page Layout Tool,
  2. clicking the handle of the system (line) containing measure 221, and then
  3. applying a page break from the Page Layout tool menu?

Once you have the page break where you want it, you can adjust the spacing of the staves if you wish.

PERFECT !! I have never used the page layout tool. Therefore I didn't have any idea what it did or what I could do using it. Thank you soooo much. This will make it easier to position page turns where I want them.
