OS: Windows 7 Enterprise
Finale: v25
Used for: Drumkit Notation

Hello,

I have created two drum lesson books so far in Finale that are 8 1/2" x 11" with a spiral binding. I export all the files as .PDF and combine the files and upload them to a commercial print company. Though the way this book is made sits well with drummers because it sits flat on their music stands, many music stores will not sell the book this way. They want the book size to be 9" x 12" with a spine binding. So my question is:

  1. Is there a way to enlarge the Finale files (about 100 files per book) without having to go through each file and manually move items such as text, articulations, exercise numbers and without having to realign all the systems, titles, subtitles, etc.?
  2. What are the best steps to enlarging this 8 1/2" x 11" book to a 9" x 12" book?

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Nancy Medeiros

First, do you have a printer that can handle 9 x 12? The vast majority of printers only accept the 8.5 x 11 max. You could do what I do - since my laser printer only handles this size: use a photocopier and enlarge it using a setting of 106% or so. If you want to use a large format printer, then yes, you'd have to go through each file and resize/reformat the pages.
