That sounds like you might be referencing a Windows shortcut. The equivalent on mac would be COMMAND+R, or you can use the menu item (View > Show > Rulers). Does this work when you try it?

Ah, yes, you're right control-R. My typo. When I try to select from the View>Show pulldown menu, "Rulers" is greyed out and I can't select it. 

How odd! That could mean that there is some dialog box open, or possibly some sort of tool malfunction. Can you take a screenshot of your whole document window with that menu open? You can use the keyboard shortcut SHIFT+COMMAND+3 on Mac to take a screenshot of the whole screen. The image file will appear on your desktop.

Thanks for your help Lawson. Some other things were getting screwy with my file so I quit Finale and restarted and up came the rulers in the menu and with the key command. Strange.

I'm afraid the problem has returned but now it only appears to be when Finale is in scroll view (ruler works fine in page view). Here's a screen shot. 

Having rulers in Page view seems logical, as does not having them in Scroll view, which is designed solely for input, not layout.

I use rulers in scroll view to insure that measures that have the same number of beats are the same length and adjust them to larger and smaller values. These then are tweaked in page view. 

Any idea why I might not be able to see rulers in scroll view?
