 Windows 10 - Finale v25

Working with 28 staves and more it is a real nag - every time using finale - to use the mixer; scrolling left and right takes a lot of time, again and again. Why is that mixer restricted for maximizing anyway?
If one could maximize/resize this mixer window to the full extend of the monitor - and also when the mixer view could be zoomed in/out to allow more channels - would be very helpful. It would save a lot of production time. Now sometimes I prefer to type in the mix values into the scoremanager (that can resize) but the nice volume sliders of the mixer are much more convenient to use.

FEATUR REQUEST:
Resizing resulting in double/triple rows of channels nicely filling up the second monitor as a maximum - or no max at all. Please consider this for further development, it woul be a big timesaver.
The developers will help me a lot with this, and I think a lot of other full score users as well!

Hi Alexander:

Thank you for this request. Others have also requested it here on the Feature Request Community. I agree there is very limited UX functionality in the Mixer, especially on the Windows side. I have added your comments the ticket FIN-4276, which we hope to address in the near future.

I totally agree with both this and the other request for the mixer.

In addition, may I add my own (somewhat related) requests with respect to the mixer?:

  • Is it possible to add a horizontal slider to the bottom of the Mixer window? I often write pieces with LARGE numbers of instruments (full symphony instrumentation). I can't resize the Mixer window to see all of the instruments at once, and I can live with that; BUT—
  • It is really annoying to have to click the arrow icon to move the display by one instrument at a time. This involves many clicks and is pretty time-consuming. If you could/would add a slider, then we could move back and forth through the instrument list very quickly and easily.
  • It would also be very helpful to have an option to input the volume level using numeric input. Right now, with the slider as the only option, it can be pretty challenging to get the exact volume setting I want. There are other places where you can do this sort of thing in Finale (can't remember exactly where off the top of my head), so it should be fairly easy to provide that option for the volume slider as well, shouldn't it?

You can use the Customize button add a column to the Score Manager that lets you set (base) volume numerically. I think that is what you were remembering.

Being able to set the volume settings numerically in the Finale Mixer itself would be nice as well.

No, actually, I didn't even know this feature even existed! So, I thank you for pointing it out to me!! Very nice, very handy!

(I was thinking of some other setting where you can use a slider OR a numeric field to enter a setting for something--but I can't, for the life of me remember what it was.)

Now if we just had a slider or scroll bar on the Mixer window to make it easier to move back and forth through the instruments...
