Hi

Using Finale 2014, is there any way to perform a range check, so Finale would scan a staff and let me know the highest and lower pitch?

Thanks!

I wonder whether you have considered the plug-in?

Plug-ins menu > Scoring and Arranging > Check Range…

Using Finale PrintMusic 2014.5 there seems to be a problem with Range for Guitar. The Tablature won't go above the tenth fret without showing orange "Negative" values for the fret numbers. And once you try the whole measure becomes corrupted and shows negative values for all strings. I have tried all Range Check settings including "Off".  Any ideas? My guitar has 22 frets.

Hi

Thanks for your reply!

I don't want to perform range check so I know the notes to go beyond the range of the instrument. I try to find a way that finale would write the range of every staff at the beginning of the piece, so I can make sure that it suits for all the singers. I tried find range, but it only tels me the staff these notes apear.

Is there a way finale create the introductory bar, and put in the limits of the range of each staff?

Thanks!

Amit

You might try clicking each staff individually and using the Handbell Chart plug-in from the TG Group of the included Finale plug-ins. Be sure to save your file first (or try this on a copy) since you will certainly want to get rid of the chart itself after you have gleaned the high and low notes from it.
