Using MAC OS X, Finale 2014.5, latest ARIA Player, GPO 5. General question, I would like to find out in more detail about RAM allocation: specifically, what may or may not slow down performance and also what may optimize performance for both the computer and ARIA player. The default appears to be 512 MB. I have 8 GB RAM and would like to allow for the maximum quality and performance without slowing down computer performance or causing regular crashes, etc. Could someone please explain in detail how the RAM allocation affects both performance of the ARIA player and performance of the computer, in contrast. Obviously we would all want to use the maximum available if doing so made things work best, but there must be a tradeoff in computer performance – or something – that suggests not to do that – how does this feature work?
