Use Windows 10 on HP laptop with HP 7520 printer/scanner. I have been a PrintMusic users for a number of years, using the Import feature in that software to bring scanned music in to the program to create MP3 practice audio files. Upgraded to Finale 25, but was disappointed that this same feature was not part of the software. I do not use the scanning part of the PrintMusic import as that part has a lot of problems and do my scanning with the software that came with my printer. The recognition and creation phase of the imports would be great to include in a future update. Currently I will have to retain PrintMusic to do the imports and create the original MUSX file, then go to Finale 25 to make corrections, add features such as the Swing Style tempo, and create the MP3 files for members of the chorale group I am part of to use in practice and memorization.

Hi Michael:
Thank you for posting your request. As Mike pointed out, we removed scanning with Finale v25 and made a public announcement on the topic. You can purchase SmartScore Pro or Music-to-XML on the Musitek site. We do not plan to add this functionality back into Finale at this time.
Cheers,

When Finale 25 was released, there was a great commotion about dropping scanning. It’s gone. It probably will not come back.
Your best alternative is to upgrade SmartScore Lite to the Pro version. There is an investment of money, and time to learn it, but your results will be much better.
As a Finale user, you can get a 50% discount on the SmartScore products.
