I am using Windows 10 and Finale 25; I hadn't been in Finale for a month or so, and tonight it asked me to update ... so I did. I don't know if it's related or not, but I opened the arrangement I'd been working on just fine; however, I was unable to save it after working for over an hour on it. If I just tried to "Save" or "Save All", it said I couldn't save to the location as it was not writable. I tried to "Save As" to the desktop, but it said it couldn't because the file did not exist (I assume the temporary file.).
I went ahead and held my breath as I lost my work--I shut down Finale and restarted the computer. Same thing happened after a reboot. I tried opening a new blank file and saving it with no changes, but it gave the same error messages.
Could it be tied to the software update? Is there a way to back that update off again? ... or is it something else?
(help).
much work lost :(
