I'm used to the mac version where space bar stops / starts playback. Is there a way to make the windows version work like this?

In Windows:

  1. Hold the space bar down: pointer turns into an ear.
  2. While holding the spacebar down, click in a measure: the playback starts there.
  3. Release the spacebar.
  4. Click in another measure to stop playback.

This would be one of those things many of us would need to submit a request to MM to change, if you're just browsing this post and agree, please ask MM to update their playback functions on PC. Thanks Adrian for the alternate method, and thank you to MM to consider working this in to an update, it would not take too much coding. Dave Lang is right, it's how every other program that plays or stops media functions, it really is time to incorporate this protocol into Windows. I switched recently to PC and it's tedious without that feature.

Is there still no work around? To be honest I haven't been using Finale much lately. I don't have much faith that MM is going to fix this. Seems like they're treading water / trying not to drown.

If SPACEBAR starts and stops playback on a Mac, how do you tell the program to Scrub notes on a Mac?

I don't know - I've never used that feature and have never missed it.
