Win7 - FinWin25 There should be a pdf menu similar to the print menu which would allow one to create pdf's for selected instruments in one command. This would obviate the need to create instrument pdf's individually. Also, David Cusick should give an alternative to Twitter & Facebook for contacting him about his MakeMusic articles.

Hi all:

This is a very highly desired function that we do want to add. I've added your votes to the ticket FIN-5109. Thank you for posting the request.

I'm sure this has been suggested before, but I cannot find that thread; and I think it is a good idea.

Hi Girard,

FYI - this is already possible on a Mac... I tried it again tonight to be sure and was able to create 21 individual PDF parts in Finale 25, Mac OS X from a full score.

1. Select print (as usual).
2. Select which parts you want exported as individual PDF files (same as if you were printing).
3. In the lower left-hand corner of the printing dialog, select "Save as PDF" from the "PDF" popup menu button.
4. A "save as" dialog box will appear - choose an appropriate file name prefix - Finale will add the part name to this prefix when saving the individual PDF parts.
5. Click OK to start saving all selected parts. 21 individual part PDF files were created for me in about 5 seconds.
6. Let the computer process it - There will be no spinning cursor or other indicator of progress - it just processes and then the print dialog box goes away. At that point - your files are done and ready.

Here are two screen shots:
#1 - Image of the specific PDF menu item to select and create your individual PDF parts simultaneously  (in red box - towards bottom of image).
#2 - Image of folder containing all new PDF parts with the same creation time.

Thanks, Doug - unfortunately, those options aren't available on a PC.

I had to click to save each part, but Finale provided the names automatically to my PDF printer in sequence.
