Hi Jeremy:

It would be a handy improvement to the UI of the Shift Lyrics dialog box. I've created a story (FIN-5193) to improve how Lyric Assignment is managed in Finale. I think it is great to separate the creation of lyrics from the assignment to notes, but the way to manage that assignment is too awkward, unintuitive, and fragile. Thank you for your suggestion.

As for Rotate, that radio button will push or pull your lyrics left or right without changing what notes have lyrics attached to them. As the documentation says, "This option is only useful if you’ve created a set of lyrics with more syllables than there are notes to attach them to. Select this option on those rare occasions when you want to replace the syllable on each note with the syllable to its right or left—but without changing which notes have lyrics."

Here's my example where I accidentally included "Passion" and just want to pull all the lyrics to the left.
