I am running the latest version of Finale 25 (25.3.0.276) on an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU (Q6600@2.4GHz) with 4.00 GB of installed RAM.

(This is a 64-bit PC).

I am using Windows 10 Home OS Build 15063.413

I am new at trying anything other than pre-installed VSTs, but I wanted to try DK Brass. I am a Bass Trombonist, and I'm trying to find a decent commercial Bass Trombone sound for playback.

Anyway, I have followed these instructions:

And it doesn't work. The DSK Brass Plug-in is NOT in the VST Instrument column. Any idea why it's not working?

Things to check:

  1. Finale 25 is a 64-bit program. Is your VST plug-in a 64-bit plug-in?
(Many VST providers provide both a 32-bit and 64-bit version; if DK Brass does this, make sure you installed the correct one.
  2. Have you asked Finale to scan the Common Folder for VST plug-ins? (MIDI/Audio > Device Setup > Manage VST Plug-in directories)
You would then want to Rescan for VST Plug-ins (also in MIDI/Audio > Device Setup)
  3. Finally, 4GB of RAM is not a lot, especially if you are using sample libraries.

Hope this will help you solve the situation.
