I've created a Finale file created for my SATB choir which is suddenly not playing the VST instrument assigned, but only in certain measures.  It's the darnest thing.  Let's say I've assigned a VST violin to the Tenor 1 part.  The tenor line will play back all measures except a measure here and there in which it plays nothing.  Has anyone ever heard of a VST instrument just stopping playback in certain measures?  I need to create rehearsal files for my choir and having measures which won't play is a real problem.

Are the notes that do not sound within the range of a violin? Some VSTs follow instrument ranges strictly (and occasionally too strictly).

What Adrian said. If you assign the parts to piano playback, does it work?

Adrian was correct.  Thank you so much!  I really didn't think about it strictly adhering to what are the natural limitations of a real instrument.  I was assigning violins and was losing the lower notes.  I just so happen to notice it on a measure that contained all lower notes.  I reassigned viola and cello to appropriate ranges and it's playing all now.

Thank you!
